Professional Desktop Audio Interface for Musicians and Producers
The Universal Audio Apollo x4 Gen 2 Essentials+ Bundle is a powerful desktop Thunderbolt audio interface designed for musicians, producers, and engineers working in project studios. Featuring a 12x18 I/O configuration, this compact interface delivers professional studio performance with QUAD Core UAD DSP processing, allowing you to record and mix with near-zero latency. With four Unison mic/line preamps with Auto-Gain, the Apollo x4 Gen 2 provides exceptional flexibility for vocals, instruments, and external gear while maintaining pristine sound quality on both Mac and Windows systems.
Elite-Class Audio Conversion and Unison Preamps
Equipped with Gen 2 Elite-Class 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters, the Apollo x4 delivers stunning clarity with up to 129 dB of dynamic range for highly accurate recordings and playback. The Unison technology allows you to track in real time using emulations of legendary analog gear from brands like Neve, API, Manley, and Fender, capturing the same warm analog textures heard on classic records. The built-in Auto-Gain feature quickly sets optimal recording levels across multiple inputs, ensuring clean recordings without clipping.
Essentials+ Bundle with 36 UAD Plug-Ins
The Essentials+ Bundle includes 36 professional UAD plug-ins that replicate legendary analog processors used in world-class studios. Powered by the onboard QUAD Core DSP, these plug-ins run in real time without overloading your computer, letting you track and mix with authentic analog character.
Flexible Connectivity for Professional Studios
The Apollo x4 Gen 2 integrates easily with modern and traditional studio setups. It includes 4x4 analog line-level inputs and outputs, two Hi-Z instrument inputs, and two monitor outputs via 1/4-inch connections. Optical ADAT or S/PDIF digital I/O allows connection to additional digital gear, expanding your recording capabilities. Dual TRS headphone outputs and alternate monitor outputs also make it easy to manage monitoring during recording sessions.
Accurate Monitoring with Room Correction and Bass Management
Achieve precise monitoring with Apollo Monitor Correction powered by Sonarworks SoundID Reference, which calibrates your speakers and headphones for accurate sound reproduction. The system uses advanced filters and time alignment to compensate for room acoustics. With the Bass Management feature, you can integrate a subwoofer into your monitoring system for full-range audio, ensuring you hear every detail in your mix.
Efficient Workflow with the UAD Console App
The UAD Console app acts as the central hub for routing, monitoring, and plug-in control. Features like Plug-In Scenes allow you to instantly recall complex plug-in chains and settings, even during live performances. The console also enables low-latency cue mixes, talkback communication, and alternate speaker switching, making it easy to manage professional recording sessions.
Hybrid Processing Power and Studio Expansion
Apollo x4 Gen 2 combines onboard DSP processing with native computer power, creating a hybrid workflow capable of handling large sessions with complex plug-in chains. As your studio grows, you can expand the system by connecting up to four Thunderbolt Apollo interfaces, supporting up to 128 channels of premium I/O. The interface is fully compatible with leading DAWs, including LUNA, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, and Ableton Live, making it a versatile centerpiece for any modern recording studio.
