The Audix D2 is a compact professional dynamic instrument microphone built for focused capture in live sound, studio, and broadcast environments. Its tight hypercardioid pickup pattern helps isolate the source, while the tailored response adds punch and definition to rack toms, congas, saxophone, brass, and guitar cabinets.

Natural Detail with Punchy Mid Bass

A VLM Type B diaphragm responds quickly to transients and supports natural, accurate sound reproduction. The 68 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response covers the weight of drums and cabinets while retaining articulation in brass and woodwind instruments. With maximum sound pressure handling of at least 144 dB, the D2 can work close to loud sources where attack and effect matter.

Controlled Pickup for Busy Stages

The hypercardioid polar pattern provides more than 30 dB of off-axis rejection, helping to reduce bleed from nearby instruments and monitors. This focused response makes the D2 useful when several microphones must fit around a drum set or when a single instrument needs better separation in a dense mix.

Compact, Durable, and Easy to Connect

The microphone uses a precision-machined aluminum body, dent-resistant steel mesh grill, and black hard coat finish. It measures 100 mm long and weighs 128 g, allowing flexible placement in tight spaces. Its transformerless, low impedance design delivers balanced output through a gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector and requires no phantom power. A snap-on microphone clip and carrying pouch are supplied for mounting and transport.
