The Audix D6X dynamic kick drum microphone gives performers, recording engineers, and sound professionals three selectable ways to shape low-frequency instruments at the source. Its recessed switch provides Deep, Balanced, and Natural sound profiles, making it easier to match the microphone response to the drum, cabinet, room, or mix without changing microphones.
Three Selectable Sound Profiles
Deep retains the familiar D6 response for powerful lows and a sound that cuts through a mix. Balanced introduces more mids and upper mids for a more traditional kick drum character. Natural moves toward a more linear response with additional midrange, supporting percussion, guitar cabinets, and other instruments that benefit from a less sculpted sound.
VLM Capsule and Cardioid Isolation
The dynamic VLM capsule captures extended lows and precise transients across a 25 Hz to 17 kHz frequency range. Its cardioid polar pattern helps isolate the intended source and control feedback. The microphone handles sound pressure levels of at least 144 dB, making it suited to kick drums, floor toms, bass cabinets, guitar cabinets, and Leslie bottoms.
Compact, Roadworthy Construction
A machined aluminum body, black anodized finish, steel mesh grille, and recessed switch support repeated stage and studio use. The transformerless, low impedance design uses a balanced 3-pin XLR output and does not require phantom power. At 5.4 inches long and 9.4 ounces, the D6X remains compact and easy to position inside or near a drum.

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.

You have 30 days to make a return. During the holiday season, from November 1 to December 31, we extend the return window to 60 days.

If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery.
