The BOSS EX-4 Effects Expander brings a large library of BOSS effects to an existing pedalboard without requiring a complete rig change. Its 120 effect types cover overdrive, distortion, modulation, delay, reverb, bass tuned effects, and distinctive BOSS sounds such as Slow Gear and Slicer. Run up to four FX blocks simultaneously, including multiple instances of the same effect, to build layered sounds for stage, studio, and practice setups.
Build Flexible Effect Chains
Four FX blocks work alongside six utility blocks for detailed signal routing and control. Divider and Mixer, Send Return, Foot Volume, two Noise Suppressor blocks, and Global EQ give you practical tools for shaping and organizing your rig. Advanced series, parallel, and wet dry configurations offer additional routing flexibility, while the effect loop lets you place external pedals within the EX-4 signal chain.
Fast Hands On Editing
A 320 x 240 dot color graphic LCD gives you a clear view of the effect chain, individual blocks, menus, and editing functions. Dedicated FX1 through FX4 buttons provide direct block control, while Select, Type and Value, and three parameter knobs make adjustments accessible from the front panel. Gear Suite settings provide ready configured starting points for each effect type, helping you create sounds quickly without extensive menu navigation.
Connect to a Modern Pedalboard
Mono and stereo audio connections support a variety of pedalboard configurations. TRS MIDI input and output provide integration with MIDI pedals, switching systems, and external clock devices, while the external control connection supports additional footswitches or an expression pedal. The EX-4 provides 128 user memories for custom sounds plus 128 presets for guitar and bass. Manual and Memory modes support both stompbox style control and preset based performance. A 48 kHz sampling frequency, 24 bit AD conversion with Adaptive Focus, 32 bit DA conversion, and 32 bit floating point processing support detailed signal handling throughout the effects chain.

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.

You have 30 days to make a return. During the holiday season, from November 1 to December 31, we extend the return window to 60 days.

If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery.
