Inspired by the pioneering wavetable synthesizers of the 1980s, the Roland n/vision combines vintage digital character with modern sound design capabilities. Part of the Roland Boutique series, this compact instrument brings evolving textures, rich harmonics, and expressive synthesis together with intuitive hands-on controls and deep creative flexibility. Blend and shape two wavetable layers to create animated movement, evolving pads, aggressive leads, and complex timbres.
Vintage Wavetable Character, Modern Sound Design
Build complex sounds with a two-layer wavetable architecture that lets you blend and manipulate waveforms to create evolving pads, aggressive leads, and animated textures. Advanced oscillator modulation, wavetable position controls, and wave shaping introduce new harmonics and movement, while stereo spread adds width to your sound.
Deep Modulation and Creative Performance
Explore vintage-inspired filter models, drive-enabled analog-style filtering, Step LFO, and envelope modulation to shape your sound in real time. Expand your creations with 17 effects, dedicated delay, and hall or shimmer reverb. A two-part, 64-step polyphonic sequencer with motion recording and an onboard arpeggiator provides additional tools for building complex melodic and rhythmic patterns.
Compact Design, Modern Connectivity
The n/vision combines immediate front-panel interaction with deeper menu-based editing for advanced sound design. USB-C audio and MIDI, traditional MIDI connections, and an external clock input support integration with modern production setups. Built-in speakers, flexible battery or USB power, and the included K-25m keyboard dock make it a portable standalone instrument for creating music anywhere.
Wave Shaper
Wave shaper technology transforms incoming waveforms with non-linear processing, generating new harmonics and unique textures beyond the capabilities of traditional wavetable synthesis.
Rich Processing
Dial in a limitless range of tonal characters with a drive-enabled analog-modeling filter and multiple filter models inspired by classic synthesizers. There’s also an MFX engine with 17 effect types plus dedicated delay and hall/shimmer reverb, providing extensive sound-shaping and spatial enhancement options.
Deep Modulation
Step LFO, envelope modulation, oscillator modulation, motion recording, and extensive parameter control unlock powerful sound-design capabilities for advanced users.
Polyphonic Sequencer and Arpeggiator
Create basslines, chords, and melodic sequences with a two-part, 64-step polyphonic sequencer that supports up to eight notes per step plus motion recording. An arpeggio function is also available for crafting dynamic, evolving sounds on the fly.
