The Oberheim TEO-5 brings five voices of genuine analog synthesis into a compact keyboard instrument built for sound design, studio production, and live performance. Two voltage controlled oscillators per voice provide triangle, sawtooth, and pulse waves, while through zero FM expands the oscillator section with complex harmonic textures unavailable from traditional oscillator modulation.
Classic SEM Filter Character
The 2 pole SEM state variable filter moves continuously from low pass through notch to high pass response. A separate band pass mode adds another tonal path. This flexible filter architecture supports warm basses, animated pads, resonant leads, evolving textures, and sharply defined effects without changing instruments.
Deep Modulation and Integrated Effects
The modulation matrix provides 19 routes, 19 sources, and 64 destinations, including audio rate options. Polyphonic and monophonic LFOs can run freely or synchronize with the arpeggiator, sequencer, or incoming MIDI clock. Each program can use a selectable digital effect and dedicated reverb, while separate overdrive adds harmonic intensity.
Expressive Performance and Sequencing
The 44 key Fatar keyboard responds to velocity and channel aftertouch. A 64 step polyphonic sequencer and multimode arpeggiator support evolving patterns, rhythmic ideas, and performance movement. The instrument stores 256 permanent Factory programs and 256 editable User programs, providing immediate access to finished sounds and space for original patches.
