Its maple and birch hybrid shell combines the warm response of maple with the defined attack and clarity of birch. The result is an articulate voice suited to live performance, recording, rehearsals, and a wide range of drum set configurations.
Maple and Birch Hybrid Shell
The 6 mm shell uses 4 plies of birch with 2 inner plies of maple. TAMA developed this combination to produce clean, well balanced tones with warmth, clarity, and a solid attack. The 6.5 inch depth supports a full snare voice while retaining the definition needed for detailed sticking and controlled accents.
Die Cast Hoop Control
Die cast zinc hoops provide a rigid contact point around the drumhead. Their construction supports consistent tuning, clear attack, focused overtones, and solid rimshots. The 10 hole design distributes tension around the 14 inch head for precise adjustment across a range of tunings.
Sensitive Snare Response
TAMA equips the drum with 20 strand Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wires for crisp response and clear articulation. Together, the hybrid shell, die cast hoops, and responsive snare wires create a versatile instrument for drummers who need definition, body, and dependable tuning control in both stage and studio settings.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.

If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery.
