The Universal Audio Volt 4P Max is built for musicians, bands, producers, and creators who need to record several microphones at the same time without moving to a large rack system. All four analog channels are full microphone and line preamps with 60 dB of digitally controlled gain, letting users capture vocals, drums, acoustic instruments, amplifiers, and other sources through the same preamp design. Professional 32 bit conversion supports sample rates up to 192 kHz.
Shape Every Microphone Channel Before Recording
Each of the four preamps offers Warmth, Focus, and Shine Tone Shaping modes. Max Processing adds six realtime compression presets designed for vocals, guitars, bass, and drums. Combining Tone Shaping with Max Processing provides more than 18 available character combinations per source, so a singer, snare microphone, guitar amplifier, and bass can each be treated differently before the signals reach the recording software.
Made for Full Band and Multi-Microphone Sessions
Four microphone and line inputs make compact drum setups, ensemble recording, and multi host podcasts possible without an external preamp. Two front instrument inputs accept compatible guitars and basses directly. When more channels are needed, ADAT optical input adds up to eight digital inputs at 44.1 or 48 kHz for a total of 12 simultaneous inputs.
Main and Alt monitor outputs allow switching between two speaker pairs, while two headphone outputs share one cue mix for collaborative sessions. A built-in talkback microphone simplifies communication between the control position and performers. The full color Smart Display shows inputs, levels, settings, and compression gain reduction, while Auto Gain and Clip Protection help establish usable levels and protect takes from unexpected peaks.
