The Yamaha AM0F40J Absolute Hybrid Maple 4-Piece Drum Shell Pack combines maple and wenge in a 7-ply shell architecture built for a rich, clear response across a wide dynamic range. Three inner maple plies and three outer maple plies surround a dense wenge core, giving players a balanced voice that stays articulate from softer passages to more forceful playing. The Solid Black exterior gives the set a clean stage presence while the Vintage Natural shell interior adds Yamaha's distinctive internal finish.
Hybrid Maple and Wenge Shells
The hybrid construction is the center of the Absolute Hybrid Maple sound. Maple contributes clarity, while the wenge core adds density to the shell structure. Yamaha pairs this construction with optimized bearing edges, using a 45-degree profile on the toms and a 30-degree profile on the bass drum. Carefully positioned vent holes help shape sustain, response, and tonal color across the set.
Hardware that lets the Shells work
YESS III mounting helps the mounted toms vibrate with less dampening so their natural sustain and volume can come through. Low-mass hook lugs reduce unnecessary hardware footprint while supporting precise tuning and faster head changes. The 3 mm aluminum die-cast tom hoops add focused attack and tuning stability without overwhelming the shell response.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.

If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery.
