The Zoom H2essential Multi-Mic Handy Recorder is the most flexible recorder for creators, offering so many ways to record. The H2essential is the only Handy Recorder with three internal microphones. With the ability to select different mic patterns, it gives creators more options than ever before.
Versatile Mid-Side and Stereo Recording
Features two front/rear cardioid mics and a bi-directional side mic, allowing 3 mics and 9 recording combinations. Choose 120 or 90 degrees stereo, mono, front/rear, or mid-side (MS) recording to capture solo instruments, ensembles, podcasts, streaming, or sound design with precise control over ambient noise and stereo width.
32-Bit Float High-Quality Audio
Record up to 96 kHz in 32-bit float format without gain adjustments, ensuring professional-level dynamic range and clarity. Use the H2essential as a USB mic for Windows, Mac or mobile devices while simultaneously recording to an SD card for flexible audio-for-video applications.
Comprehensive Input, Output, and Mixer Options
Includes 3.5mm stereo mini input for external mics, line sources, or keyboards, plus 3.5mm line/headphone output and built-in speaker for playback. The onboard mixer allows easy volume adjustments for multiple tracks, while real-time waveform display on the 1.3-inch color LCD ensures precise monitoring and navigation.
Advanced Features and Accessibility
Low-cut filter, pre-record, auto-record, playback speed adjustment, and marker placement offer professional recording control. Designed for visually impaired users with audible menu navigation and multilingual support (English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian, Chinese). Remote control via iOS app with BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter allows synchronized recording across multiple devices.
Flexible Power and Storage

The WSH-2E is a hairy windscreen designed for the H2essential. It reduces wind noise to ensure clear sound during outdoor recordings, with a top opening that lets you easily reach all controls while the windscreen is in place.

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.

If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery.
